While blog hopping today, I stumbled upon a website that has the potential to give moms everywhere that "ahhhh" moment. Swap Mamas! For awhile now I have been swapping clothing and toys with friends that have children that are a size larger or smaller than my little ones. Not only is it the green thing to do but its also the most economical thing to do.
It has always been my thought that little folks don't need new clothing for daycare and some of my little ones favorite items have been gently used items freely given to me by other mamas who were all to happy to have me take it off their hands. As a matter of fact, I have a bag of very gently used items in my truck right now that I am more than willing to drive 40 minutes to a dear friends house just so I don't have to keep pulling them out of the laundry after one of my little one uses them for clothing for her teddy bear. Her teddy bear really doesn't need a size 3T winter coat. He has fur! So there's only one huge problem with this site, there are no organized swap circles in Wake County!!!! I have always been told that necessity is the mother of invention. I guess its up to me to start one. I think I have enough items in the many bins filled with clothing the Artis 6 will no longer wear, sitting in my garage and the kid's closets. I can probably swap with about 5-6 over moms alone. So Mamas in the Wake county area, keep your ears open. I will be posting information on our local swap circle soon!
