I did it! I actually started on my weight loss journey, well I guess I started mentally a while back. For months, maybe years I have been thinking about losing weight. After just thinking about it, I moved to the next step of dreaming about losing weight, and then talking about losing weight. Through all of these stages I have had some successful moments when I would lose maybe 5 - 10 pounds but then I would relapse and eat a large fry (McDonalds's, Lord help me!) or a few slices of cheesecake and I would be right back where I started. You know that commercial that said no one could eat just one, that's how I feel about french fries and pasta and cheesecake ooooooh and hush puppies. I'm a carb-a-holic. Well, after the scenario with Sarah and my shorts, scroll down and read about that in "Its Official!" I decided that my thoughts at some point really do have to become actions. Thoughts, dreams, and words would have to connect with action for me to really lose the weight. So this morning, bright and early 6:30am, I got up and dragged myself out to exercise. Yes, I actually walked, jogged, and practically crawled for a full 45min. I will be tracking my exercise and weight loss journey on www.sparkpeople.com. If you are not familiar with sparkpeople, check it out. It is an awesome FREE tool for anyone trying to lose weight. So, come on, join me! I would love to have some blogging buddies to help push and motivate me through this journey. According to my Dr. I need to drop a full............55lbs! This is gonna require much pushing, shoving, pulling, and motivation. So feel free to post your weight loss stories and tricks. If you've found success with this thing, let me know. I'm gonna need all the help I can get!
Hi Courtney! I'm stopping by from SITS to say hi and wish you good luck on your weight loss journey! I need to start one of those myself, soon!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on day one! I might have to catch up with you at sparkpeople.com!
Good luck to you! Don't beat yourself over little splurges, just get back on track. Also try smaller portions like a small fry instead of a big one. I wish you much success!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, 55 lbs is a lot to lose, but you can do it. Do you have a goal in mind as to when you should have it lost? Inquiring minds want to know. I also think you and I must be kin to each other because I am so addicted to McD's fries. They are the best of the best. Anyway, continue your weight loss and do it one day at a time. You go girl.
ReplyDeletedropping by from SITS! Good Luck on your journey, One thing that worked for me was dieting like a 5 day work week. Sounds strange but it works, you're allowed to eat what you want on the weekends so long as you stick to your plan during the week. It's proven that a high calorie intake ( in the midst of a REGULAR diet) will throw off your metabolism and keep you from hitting a plateau. Plus you get an incentive to stick to your diet.
ReplyDeleteThank you for my award:) I just got a chance today to actually log in to my blog so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw your comment!!! Thank you I will pass it on:)
ReplyDeleteD.I.E.T.(Do I Eat That?)ooooooooh, that's a bad word for me! Since kids I've done every diet there is Weight Watchers worked really well for me, I lost 40 pounds, however, as soon as I thought I was over the DIET weight plopped right back on my rear and belly:) So, I don't say diet, I just have decided to live a healthier life God's way. He faithfully makes us so many promises and I don't think I've made any. I've decided to get my body back for him so that he can use me to help others:) So, far I feel wonderful, going to the gym and eating balanced meals. I would love to go on this weight loss journey with you:)

Good job! You've inspired me. I haven't felt real great lately and I think it migh be my B.P creeping up (which seriously scares me). I need to step away from the pasta and get serious. I promise to try harder!

Good luck on your journey. Last week I started my diet and exercise journey from hell too. It sucks, but will be worth it in the end. I also bought the Shred video. That's all that I can say about that, because I haven't actually started it. Maybe next week.
